ASE Guidelines Coming to Doximity Ask

Cardiovascular ultrasound plays a vital role in modern cardiovascular care, offering a safe, non-invasive, and informative way to evaluate the heart and vascular structure and function in real time across diverse clinical settings and patients. Echocardiography can shape clinical decisions across cardiology, critical care, anesthesiology, and hospital medicine. Getting it right requires standardized, trusted reference.

Today, we’re announcing a new agreement with the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) that will bring ASE Guidelines into Ask, Doximity’s evidence-backed, HIPAA-compliant medical AI for clinicians.

Ask, powered by PeerCheck™, combines AI speed with physician-verified clinical content, reinforcing the foundational role that peer review and expert consensus play in evidence-based medicine. ASE Guidelines include both evidence-based recommendations and expert consensus documents for areas where sufficient evidence is still emerging.

Founded in 1975, ASE is the largest global organization for cardiovascular ultrasound imaging professionals setting practice standards and guidelines for the field. ASE guidelines are essential for ensuring the consistent, accurate, and high-quality use of cardiovascular ultrasound in clinical practice. By standardizing image acquisition, measurement techniques, and interpretation criteria, guideline documents help reduce variability and improve diagnostic reliability across institutions, echocardiography reporting templates, and practitioners. With over 80 active documents spanning chamber quantification, valve evaluation, right heart assessment, diastolic function, point-of-care ultrasound, and more, the guidelines also provide evidence-based recommendations that support clinical decision-making, ensuring that patients receive appropriate, timely, and effective care.

Bringing ASE Guidelines into Ask is part of Doximity’s broader strategy to deliver clinical AI that physicians can trust. AI technology is quickly becoming a commodity, but medical trust is not. Clinicians want answers that are AI-fast and textbook-trusted. In an era of rapidly evolving technology and increasing demand for cardiovascular imaging, echocardiography guidelines play a critical role in maintaining best practices, enhancing patient safety, optimizing outcomes, and guiding future research initiatives.

With the introduction of ASE Guidelines, Ask users can access current cardiovascular ultrasound standards with accuracy and confidence, as every ASE guideline is developed through a rigorous, expert-driven review process.
